Da Vinci Paddle Boat
grabcad
This paddle boat, designed for FDM 3D printers with a minimum printing size of 220x220x200mm, utilizes 0.4 or 0.5 mm nozzles and is capable of printing at 45° angles with a bridging capacity of 6mm. All parts can be printed without the need for support material. The design incorporates modern gears and thicker structure based on Da Vinci's original concept, enabling it to fit FDM 3D printers. Each part features a 0.6mm gap between moving components and a 0.2mm gap between non-moving parts, which must be assembled using wedges rather than screws or glue. The boat can be printed in PLA, ABS, or even Wood PLA for a visually appealing result. Inspiration was drawn from MEAM101-09C-P03-Drawings and the paddleboat.jpg file. Assembly instructions are provided in a docx file, with a Solidworks assembly, STEP file of the whole assembly, and STL files available for download within the zip folder.
