To get this working, carefully remove the spool cradle first, assuming you're already printing with 3rd party filament. I'm running firmware 2.4.8 and using Cura for slicing, but it doesn't report filament usage, as long as XYZ Print or the SD card feature aren't used, making this work indefinitely unless a patch is made for this workaround. If that's the case, avoid updating anything that can't be reverted; definitely don't update firmware past 2.4.8, and you can reinstall Cura if needed. I got frustrated with smacking my hand on the original spool cradle after purchasing only one cradle from XYZ that held in place with a spool clip. In Cura, I set the lower half to print at 4mm walls and 80% infill until just after the screw mounts; afterwards, it was set to 2mm walls and 40% infill. Original screws are used, and the holes should be exactly 3/32, threading easily with stock screws. Everything else simply slides into place, going back where the original cradle was.
