Da Vinci Code Cryptex
thingiverse
In "The Da Vinci Code," a cryptex plays a significant role as a cylinder containing crucial documents protected by a code set via rings. On Thingiverse, discover four unique cryptex designs, but one stands out for its detailed images and completion. A YouTube video showcases the functioning of this cryptex printed on a RepStrap printer. To create your own, print the necessary cryptex *.stl files and cut paper strips (A-Z) to wrap around ring pieces as code. Glue these strips to determine the code, followed by inserting small filament pieces into the inner tube. Assemble the outer and inner tubes with rings, ensuring smooth rotation and easy removal with correct codes. Finally, glue the top and handle pieces for a fully functional cryptex! Improvements can be made using the provided Blender file with individual layers for editing.
