Da Vinci - Anemometer
grabcad
An anemometer is a device that measures wind force by using a quadrant-shaped vertical frame and a vane, hinged at the top, which rises to a highest point on the scale according to the wind's strength. Leon Alberti originally proposed this design, which was later improved upon by Leonardo da Vinci. The machine consists of a flap that is blown by the wind, raising it along the quadrant; a stable base is needed to prevent toppling. My 3D-printable version takes inspiration from Da Vinci's sketches and requires FDM printing with a bed size of 150mmX150mm and height of 150mm (like Flashforge Creator), using PLA or ABS plastic, at shell thickness 0.8, infill 20-50%, and with support everywhere.
