Da vinci 3.0 (redesigning the Da Vinci 1.0)

Human: Update - April 25, 2015 - busy month indeed! I'm finally back to work on this project and the design is pretty much complete. You'll need to get MDF laser cut, reuse X/Y cartage from Da Vinci, reuse build plate, buy new rods, and pulleys for Y cartage. Hardware is also needed. I realize now that holes need to be edited for part mounting so I'll tackle this task next chance I have. Update - March 30, 2015 - great news everyone! Back at it after spring break and decided to throw out second iteration of the design. Third version will keep Da Vinci 1.0's style and firmware won't need updating either! The new design makes printer smaller without losing build area. Holes for rod extension were made on .STLs, so cutting down linear rods is no longer necessary before assembling the printer. Update - March 16, 2015 - good news for you all, the motor mount is mirrored and a bottom piece has been designed. Tomorrow I'll be working on Z-axis and joining plates for body of the printer. Update - March 15, 2015 - Bad news - the Da Vinci board is not compatible with repitier firmware that's being used in other printers now so you'll need to buy a ramps 1.4 board kit. I found an awesome deal on MDF for $6 per piece and started working on side designs and one motor mount. Update - March 14, 2015 - started designing H-bot style design, .STL uploaded too. There's still much work to do, but repitier firmware will have to be updated so if anyone wants to lend a hand I'm on soliforum. Ask for the updated files and help is greatly appreciated! Update - March 13, 2015 - I made a drastic change by deciding to drop the expensive aluminum extrusions for wood like original ultimaker's frame. It also changed my idea for an H-bot design as the Da Vinci hardware would fit perfectly now! New plan includes a cost of under $100 with only needed wood sheet thickness not determined yet and timing belt required. This is a new take on Da vinci 1.0 redesigning it using 80x20 aluminum extrusions along with all Da Vinci hardware, THIS IS NOT COMPLETE YET! And if anyone's interested, I can release .STL files so they could design further off my work or hold on till it's complete and receive those once then
