Da Vinci 2.0 Cooling Fan Snap on
thingiverse
I'm pleased to show you my improved cooling fan shroud, which I believe has a better design than my previous version that tried to cleverly sneak up behind the tool head from an awkward angle. This latest iteration is a two-part creation that snaps together effortlessly. Since this shroud is made to order with additive manufacturing technology, I can freely modify it to fit any specific need you may have - just let me know what's on your mind! You'll find my inspiration for this design right here on voltivo.com, in the davinci-firmware forum. Search for "Cooling fans for extruded plastic and the tool head". In addition, I took a redesign approach with my Cooling Fan Shroud piece to improve functionality while taking away unwanted complexity - just take a look at what I drew from another excellent source. Visit www.thingiverse.com, type in 433148 and see where it takes you. UPDATE ALERT: To make this setup even better for the E3D users out there, I added a new version of the Anchor which has been carefully modified to provide extra clearance. You can easily attach it to your upgraded Da Vinci tool head without worrying about a thing. However, things have improved some more since then. The latest revision now includes redesigned anchors that simply slip onto the Cooling Fan Shroud and don't fall off as they once did. Getting started with your brand-new Cooling Fan Shroud couldn't be easier! Instructions: You will need to print out both parts without supports for a flawless assembly process. Attach them in sequence: first, to one another; then securely, onto the front side of your 3D printer's headpiece. Voila! A slight adjustment was made on these modified parts so they fit perfectly when snapped into place around the toolhead and work smoothly as expected. It may be time to modify those Anchors a little bit so they click neatly into position with much more effort-free ease. For those in particular that chose Da Vinci's E3D V6 upgrade by utilizing the aforementioned design at thing:744356 I have incorporated a slightly extended anchor piece within this update
