I was printing a project when the filament in my spool started overlapping, preventing the spool from spinning freely. The hot end continued to try moving to its designated position, causing the motor to produce an earsplitting banging noise. Luckily, I was present to shut down my Da Vinci 1.0A printer before one of the upper Z-axis rod holder/block units broke. Having previously printed several designs found on Thingiverse that didn't meet my expectations, I decided to create my own blocks from scratch. After experimenting with various approaches, I crafted suitable repair parts. The Z-axis rods are 10mm in diameter, except for their final 10mm sections, which are 8mm in diameter. My original part utilized an 8mm hole; I designed mine with a 10mm hole that tapers down to an 8mm hole. I believe the extended socket enhances the blocks' strength and stability. To ensure a snug fit between the block and rod, I used 10.2mm for the larger hole and 8.3mm for the smaller one, resulting in no play or movement. I printed these parts using Prusament PLA filament; your results may vary.
