Da Vinci 1.0 Rear Spool Holder Redux
thingiverse
This is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:736446 I upgraded mount brackets for added durability against fatigue from heavy spools, ensuring they remain intact over time. The design now features an enhanced axis rod with increased surface area and reduced support requirements during printing, resulting in a smoother clean-up process. Instructions Print using a 0.3 layer height, three shells, and 80% infill for optimal results. Mounts print flat without requiring supports or rafts. Support is necessary under each end of the axis rod, where rounds are attached. Due to the extra material at the mounts' tops, the lid binds slightly near its travel limits but can still be opened enough to remove cartridges with ease. If you prefer a wider opening, mark and file your top lid at the relevant spots or trim excess material from the mounts. A mere few millimeters of clearance is sufficient. First, remove your cartridge, then position your top lid in the "remove groove" (the upper section of the track) for installation. The mount notches align perfectly with case bracing inside.
