Da VInci 1.0 Pro Filament Spool Holder

This is a remake of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1234196/ by ChatToBrain. The original model conflicted with the opening of the lid on the Da Vinci Printer, forcing users to "pop" the lid up just to open it. I wanted to avoid this inconvenience and prevent potential damage to the lid from misuse. Modifications: I utilized the existing U-shaped hole on the back of the printer enclosure as the sole mounting point for the holder, reworking the top of the original design in the process. The filament hole is angled upward to minimize bends in the filament as it enters the printer. The redesigned holder is 1 mm narrower due to the u-shaped hole's limited width of 19mm. Strength: While the original design boasts a robust mounting system, I have stress-tested this redesign and found it can easily hold 10 lbs (4.5 kg) without issue. However, I still advise against placing excessive weight on the printer's enclosure. This revised design does not interfere with normal XYZprinting cartridges. To reduce filament friction as much as possible, I recommend using an insert in the filament guide hole. A small piece of coated backing paper from a sheet of masking tape worked well for me; you can also use a "peel" part from a peel-and-stick armband, wall hanger, or similar item. Print Settings Printer: Da Vinci 1.0 PRO Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3mm Infill: 10% Notes: I used Water (clear) PLA with a hot end temperature of 230 C and a bed temperature of 40 C.
