I recently needed to frequently switch between various filaments. Despite possessing a rack for filament spools, I lacked a method for pre-lacing the filaments and holding them near the printer. I decided to create this cartridge to fit snugly into the rectangular slot beneath the original filament grommet. It now securely holds multiple filaments while cleaning them during prints. Instructions: Simply print the part, which I accomplished at 0.2mm thickness. Cut a piece of foam or sponge to match the slot's dimensions. I used melamine foam, the same material found in Mr Clean Magic Eraser products. Cutting it slightly larger ensured a snug fit. Create slots halfway down each side of the foam, allowing five filaments to pass through, as shown in the accompanying picture with three currently installed. Carefully insert the foam/sponge into the slot and slide the entire cartridge into the printer from behind, just like inserting a filament. The bezel will prevent the cartridge from being sucked into the printer. Note: If additional filament or foam/sponge support is needed, consider upgrading to the V2 version, which may be more effective for certain printer setups. However, extra printing support might still be necessary for this design.
