Da Vinci 1.0 Filament Guide

Da Vinci 1.0 Filament Guide

thingiverse

After upgrading my printer to Repetier, I decided to experiment with different filaments, but most wouldn't fit in my Da Vinci cartridges. I searched Thingiverse and printed Sedzen's Spool Holders, which worked fine, but the filament kept rubbing against the top of my printer, looking out of place. I looked for filament guides for my printer but couldn't find any that met my needs, so I decided to design one myself. After about six attempts at trial and error, this is the design I finally came up with. The guide attaches to the top of my printer and slides with the filament to prevent it from snapping, which was a big issue for me since I was using Protopasta's Carbon Fiber filament. In the end, I'm very happy with how the final design turned out, and I can safely say that it has improved my printer's efficiency and aesthetic appeal.
