The whole mechanism can be used as a functional unit. When you rotate the “Drive Gear” or the “Ring” , the blades in the center hole open or close gradually. It is similar to a camera aperture or iris diaphragm. A motor can be used to drive the mechanism. The center hole is 70 mm. The “Drive Gear”(Part D70.002TY2) is optional. You can use any gear as driving gear as long as its gear teeth’s parameter is the same to the table in the drawing.
