D5s Mini ball bearing spool holder.
thingiverse
I'm upgrading my 3D printer's mini spool holder to use stock parts. To get started, I'll need four ball bearings: two 26mm outer diameter, one 10mm inner diameter, and one 8mm deep. This modification will reduce the workload on my feeding motor and provide a smoother feed system. On my machine, the new holder stays in place thanks to friction alone. However, the rollers may require additional support at the bottom of the cavity to function properly. Meanwhile, I'm still working on integrating the filament guide into the extruder - it's not a perfect fit yet, but a bit of tweaking and some tape should do the trick.
