I've seen a lot of unwarranted alarms using the D1 Mini with the HC-SR501, so I rebuilt the model, but this time around I'm using an AM312 which boasts much greater stability. As it stands now, I'm experiencing zero false positives. The D1 mini runs on ESPhome and is connected to my Home Assistant system.
