D&D Working Gallows (working)
thingiverse
D&D sized working gallows platform, ready to assemble for mini execution fun. This gallows system is based on DevonJones Dock parts, allowing you to customize with steps, change height, or add walkways and platforms. To build, print the following components: 4 x pilings (use alternate dock parts for different heights) 2 x SupportBraces 1 x Deck 1 x Support 1 x Trapdoor 1 x Trapdoor axle 1 x locking pin 1 x Lever 1 x lever box 1 x lever box part 2 1 x victim mini-figure 1 x gallows post split A 1 x gallows post split B First, assemble the lever and leverbox. Insert the lever into the top of the box, then add the bottom (leverbox part 2). If it doesn't fit smoothly, use a file or sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges. Once it works as intended, glue the box carefully, making sure the lever still moves freely. Next, attach the trap door axle to the trapdoor. Now, dry-fit the main assembly and check operation before gluing. Insert the main support and drop in the trapdoor (it should fit easily and hang if you pick up the support). Put the locking pin in the slot at the front of the trapdoor, making sure it sits under the trap door. The locking pin hole should be at the end that's not under the trapdoor. Assuming everything works, glue the deck carefully onto the support, ensuring the locking pin and trapdoor can still move freely. Now, add the lever/lever box to the assembly, with the lever going through the hole. Glue the lever box down lightly around the edge, making sure not to get glue on the lever or locking pin. Next, attach the pilings to either end of the support braces. Then, glue the gallows post splits together and insert them through the hole in the deck/support. Add the pilings/brace to either end and adjust the gallows post until it rests on the ground. Finally, use thread to create a noose and hook your mini-figure (use the provided victim or any figure with a neck). At this point, you're done! Push the lever and watch as your mini drops. It's really not as hard as these instructions make it sound – honest!
