D&D Swinging Double Doors REMIX

D&D Swinging Double Doors REMIX

thingiverse

I created a remix of Sven Lerseth's d&d swinging double doors and fell in love with the design, but unfortunately, the original model wouldn't print correctly, so the first thing I did was import the files into Blender to fix all the topology issues. There were competing normals, holes, and generally messed-up geometry that needed attention. Then I extended the holes through the doors, making them thicker and longer, so they now go all the way through and into the top of the structure for added strength. To make the doors easier to open, I also beveled the backs slightly. Additionally, I added a squared-off top for a different style. After printing all the parts on one print without supports, I cleaned them up and assembled everything together with no glue required - it holds perfectly in place. Every adventurer's worst nightmare has come true: a regular door! I use this creation almost every time I play now.
