D&D Elf Archer Acrobat
thingiverse
Was looking for inspiration and stumbled upon this amazing character drawing online. The dynamic pose of the character really caught my eye, so I was inspired to create a 3D model based on it. I tried to replicate the character's look and outfit as closely as possible while making some modifications to make it more suitable for 3D printing. I used Desktop Hero as the base to get the pose and basic shape, along with the bow and arrow feathers. I custom-modeled various parts of the model, including the bowstring, arrow shaft/head, leg armor, and gladius-style sword. I also added details like daggers, belts, and a scarf. To make it more printer-friendly, I cut off the outer ring of the base source and built a new underbase for it. I spent many hours sculpting different parts of the model in MeshMixer. I sculpted the body, built the shirt sleeves, and did significant work on the hair to give it a more feminine look that interacts well with the scarf. I also added pointy elf ears on the head, redid the eyebrows and eyes to print better. I printed the model at both 40mm and 80mm sizes to see how the details would turn out. The big one looks amazing, while the small one was printed using a tilted back version. I recommend printing it slow to get the best results, and use the tilted version on the "back" model for better quality. I've also provided a flat version of the model if you prefer that. I've updated the model to include a no-scarf version, with re-sculted hair and neck to fit the new design.
