D-bot carbon + rails
thingiverse
This is a test version of the D-bot frame, built using MGN12 rails on the Y axis and carbon rods for the X axis. I'd like to thank HEVO for suggesting the use of carbon in this design. Please note that this is an early test version, so use it at your own risk. A v2 will likely be released soon, with improvements such as 100% belt alignment on the carriage. Here's a breakdown of the components used: * 2 x MGN12 rails * 2 x 10mm carbon rods * 4 x pulleys (ID 3) * An Aero heat sink and a Nimble extruder This design uses sensorless homing, so you'll need to add endstops yourself if you prefer the traditional method. I'd like to give credit to Papsnoek for the PTFE bushing used in this design. You can find it on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2419990 Please don't leave comments saying that carbon won't work - it's not a new or untested material. Have fun testing!
