D Battery

D Battery

thingiverse

In my Rotobooth project, I encountered an issue with my external camera flash, a Canon 430ex, which lacked a DC power option for external power sources. This meant that the four AA batteries would have to be replaced approximately every 200 photos. To address this problem, I designed the booth to accommodate the next size battery, the six X D batteries used in my boombox. In creating the battery compartment, I added screws on either side of the batteries to affix the leads and glued some copper mesh to maximize conductor surface area. However, the cross braces are not perfectly straight due to using a pencil tool, and the print process is slow, so I may reduce the diameter of the inner cylinder in future designs.
