CZ Scorpion Soft-jaw
thingiverse
This sleek design leverages the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 hand guard shape, a precise octagon with a circumscribed circle of approximately 52mm in diameter. This strategic approach eliminates the need to use soft-jaws directly on the hand guard, providing a more efficient cleaning experience due to its raised position about six inches above the vise. Utilizing PETG for this design was a deliberate choice, as it offers just enough flexibility to make it viable for holding the gun without risking breakage in case of accidental bumps. With its robust strength, PETG is well-equipped to handle the weight of the rifle. The holder halves are meticulously crafted with symmetry in mind. Inside each holder piece, three tabs securely fit into the M-Lok channels on the hand guard, providing additional stability and preventing the rifle from shifting within the holder. The assembly process requires two 3/8"-16 bolts, fender washers, lock washers, and wing nuts, which are tightened with only a 1mm gap between the two halves before securing them in place. To assemble the holder, you will need: (2) 3/8"-16 (or M9) hex bolts, measuring 1.5" in length (2) 3/8" lock washers (2) 3/8" fender washers (2) 3/8" wing nuts For optimal printing results, I recommend using top/bottom/perimeter settings to achieve a wall thickness of approximately 1.6mm. Infill should be set to 20% full honeycomb (using Simplify3D), with an extrusion multiplier of 120% for the infill.
