Cyvasse playing board for dual extruders

The beautiful and inspiring Cyvasse set by Dutchmogul needed a dual-strusion playing board. The base plate along with "major" raised squares is available in boardplatemajorsquares.stl, while two of the four builds can be achieved by merging this with boardminorsquares.stl. For the other two builds, merge boardplateminorsquares.stl with boardmajorsquares.stl to get a 10x10 board with alternating color squares. Printed on a MBI Replicator dual extruder, Sailfish firmware, ReplicatorG 40r17 Sailfish, Skeinforge 50 with PyPy, using 1.8mm black and white ABS filament from MBI, at .17mm layer height, 110C HBP, 230C for both extruders, and 10% infill, 1 shell. However, there is an issue with the way the STLs merge, causing a jam when printing the free-floating squares. Suggestions are welcome to fix this problem and prevent nozzle dragging.
