CyTick
grabcad
The design is a powered exoskeleton for paraplegics to provide them with mobility and a sense of mental and physical satisfaction and support. The model secured 2nd position in the design hackathon conducted by AUTODESK.Paraplegia, caused by spinal cord injury, is a lower-body paralysis that is suffered by 1 in 100 people. The design we fabricated is a powered lower-body exoskeleton that can help paraplegics walk and provide them with a pre-planned gait movement. The model (CyTick) is a rigidly made structure with various parts and joints as an attempt to replicate human mobility. The main application of the models can be in clinics where the model can be used to help them in exercises to move all muscles, which is a non-trivial requirement for paraplegics. CyTick has preprogrammed commands which provide a customized gait pattern, which will move all the insensitive muscles and help retain the bone density. Along with the physical well-being it offers, the mental well-being of the user/ pilot improves subsequently. Cytick can assist in climbing stairs and has lateral and circular hip movement provisions.
