Roller bearings, which typically have cylinders longer than their diameter, exhibit higher load capacities than ball bearings. However, under loads perpendicular to the primary supported direction, they offer lower capacity and increased friction. Misalignment of inner and outer races can drastically reduce the bearing's capacity compared to either a ball or spherical roller bearing.
