Cylindrical Desiccant Cases - Filament Storage

This is a slotted cylindrical container that I use to hold Desiccant for my filament storage system, specifically designed to fit snugly into the spindle area of the filament spool. I've created three different sizes: The 19mm diameter version should fit Taulman spools perfectly - though I haven't personally tested it yet. The 30mm diameter version fits my Hatchbox spools with ease. The 50mm diameter version accommodates my Orb Polymer spools flawlessly. The slots are 1.5mm wide, ensuring that larger Desiccant spheres remain securely in place without spillage. However, I've noticed that crushed Desiccant spheres can still slip out, so it's essential to use intact Desiccant for optimal results. The lid is press-fit and the 3D printed layers cleverly zipper together to provide a tight seal. To make removal easier, I've added finger nail slots to the lid. On a related note, I vacuum-seal my filament spools in Waring 2-Gallon vacuum seal bags, part number WVS2GL. These bags measure 19.2 x 12.1 x 0.1 inches and can accommodate one standard-sized Hatchbox spool or two smaller ones. To seal the bags, I use the Waring Pro Pistol part number WPVS2000SA, which works exceptionally well. The gun and bags are available on Amazon.com. Designed using Solidworks 2016 Update: As of January 12, 2017, I've added a new 19mm size specifically designed to fit Taulman spools. Additionally, I increased the material between slots to enhance the container's strength.
