Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem, BLMJ 2770, Old Akadian Period, 2310 - 2164 BCE, Southern Mesopotamia, Serpentine, Size: 2.5x1.5 cm. Cylinder seal carved with contest scene showing two pairs of contestants in fierce struggle. Cuneiform inscription bears the name of the seal owner, A horned caprid battling a lion. A nude bearded hero with curly hair fights bravely, probably a laḫmu "hairy", a powerful deity originally associated with Enki-Ea. To the left of the bearded hero, a cuneiform inscription reveals the name of the seal owner: É-ni-ga-SUD the skilled felter.
