Cylinder 15 puzzle
thingiverse
This resembles classic sliding-tile puzzles, but in a cylindrical shape with periodic boundary conditions. In reality, it's more like solving a 23-puzzle. To start, you'll need to print out the spool bottom, top, and spacer parts. Additionally, you'll have to print out the puzzle pieces, which are named piece_<X>_<Y>.stl files. These file names indicate where each piece fits on the grid. Assembly requires some manual effort. First, place all the tiles around the base of the spool. You may need to hold them in position until it's fully assembled. Once complete, put the spacer on top of the spool bottom and then screw the spool top into the bottom, with the spacer acting as a buffer between the two parts. The tabs on the top of each puzzle piece should fit into the circular slot along the spool top. If the puzzle feels too tight or loose from top to bottom, you can easily print a new spacer of any desired height.
