Cyclonic Filter

Cyclonic Filter

thingiverse

A clever cyclonic dust extractor I've developed for my homemade CNC milling machine is surprisingly efficient, eliminating the need for additional filtering! It's based on Bill Pentz's excellent plans, which can be found at billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone. This design consists of five key components: a cylindrical part that forms the cyclone, a conical part that completes the cyclone shape, a dust collecting container, a vacuum connection with a grille to hold a filter mat, and an adapter for flexible vacuum hoses. Two adapters are required for this setup. All parts connect seamlessly using bayonet-style fittings, allowing for easy disassembly and cleaning. Alternatively, you can use a plastic bucket as the dust collection vessel; in this case, print the bucket adapter instead of the receptacle and attach it to the bucket lid using screws. The design is optimized for printing on 3D printers with a 20x20x20 cm build area and features generous clearances for rapid printing.
