This adapter is essential for how I use the cyclone separator. The separator is designed to connect standard shop vac hoses via friction fit. I am attaching the separator directly to a 2.5-inch flexible hose for a dust collection system. Since the inside diameter of the flexible hose is larger than that of a standard shop vac hose, it does not fit. This adapter enables the flexible hose to fit and also channels the airflow into the separator. Additionally, it blocks dust and particles from getting wedged between the hose and separator at the connection point.
