Cyclone PCB Reinforced XZ Carriage

Cyclone PCB Reinforced XZ Carriage

thingiverse

This is a reinforced XZ-carriage assembly for the Cyclone PCB, based on Manuel Palacios' work, available here: https://github.com/Mecan0/Cyclone-with-leadscrews It uses an anti-backlash nut for the X axis from Smw3d: https://www.smw3d.com/acme-anti-backlash-nut/ This assembly is a drop-in replacement for the existing XZ assembly. The Z clamps are sized to fit a Dremel 3000. The tool attachment threads into the bottom section, and then it gets clamped by the top section. The upgrade in rigidity is truly remarkable. This makes it much easier to do a tool change between isolation routing and drilling without messing up the alignment. New features have been added: a vacuum attachment has been included. Added on 7/15/17: 52mm Spindle variants of the Z upper and lower pieces are now available. Check out this collet wrench that fits between the gap: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2436733 Updated on 7/28/17: The smooth rod set screws on the X Carriage have been beefed up to prevent failure due to stresses on the small amount of material.
