Cyclone PCB Factory - Y-Axis for Printrbot Simple
thingiverse
A refined adaptation of the Y-Axis Motor Mount for the 1st Generation Cyclone PCB Factory has been engineered, condensed to accommodate printing on a Printrbot Simple or smaller bed printers. It seamlessly integrates with the original 1st Gen Cyclone without any additional part modifications. Using this adapted design will also yield minimal plastic usage. The complete Cyclone PCB Factory design can be accessed at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:41221. Instructions: Dual prints of the Y-Axis motor mount are included. The version labeled with "Warp Relief" incorporates an anti-warp grid feature added to its lower layers. This is an innovative approach used for larger objects, replacing traditional raft or brim methods. Rafts and Brims often produce unsatisfactory results due to uneven surface finish and layer shrinking issues. By employing this grid pattern, objects can be printed in PLA without excessive warping. The idea revolves around containing layer shrinkage within manageable 10mm lengths, thus preventing the exaggerated pull from higher print levels caused by extensive object shrinkage. Testers are encouraged to experiment with this technique and report their outcomes for further improvement and refinement.
