Cyclone PCB Factory Cartridges

This is a Modular System for the Cyclone PCB Factory (links below) to expand its capabilities. The Cyclone was designed to mill out PCBs quickly for prototyping purposes. However, with PCBs from China becoming cheaper and of higher quality, this machine's uses have decreased. For some time now, I've been working on developing a compact pick and place machine for rapid assembly. Some parts have been completed but I decided that this machine would be suitable for the task. To transform this machine into a pick and place device, the z-axis needs to be modified with the pick and place equipment. These components replace the z-axis with a cartridge system featuring two interchangeable slots. Each slot holds the necessary device or tool. Currently, three types of cartridges have been designed: 1. A picking head for pick and place applications, 2. A camera mount, 3. A mounting plate. This modular system is not limited to pick and place operations but can be utilized in any project requiring CNC-like functionality such as sorters or printers (ink or 3D). The software used consists of OpenPNP on the computer and my Gcode Arduino library on the machine's controller.
