Cycladic Figurine 2 at The British Museum, London
myminifactory
During the early part of the Greek Bronze Age, people in the Aegean islands known as the Cyclades began producing items made from copper, silver, lead and fine white marble found in the area. They relied heavily on farming and fishing, but increasingly traveled by boat between the islands and beyond. This item is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the world for public access at no cost. Scan the World is an open-source community effort where individuals can contribute interesting items from their surroundings; those interested in participating should email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how they can help.
