I created an amphibious walking ship from the game Supreme Commander by extracting its original model and reworking it to add accurate textures, which I carefully examined to ensure precision. To achieve perfect accuracy, however, more work would be required, including printing at a lower layer height. I made significant modifications to the original design to eliminate intersecting geometry, enabling the legs to fold seamlessly into the hull. The model's structural integrity was also improved for optimal performance. The ship's legs are secured with M3x20 screws for smooth articulation, while the pontoons operate on a sophisticated four-bar mechanism. Both turrets can rotate freely, and the AA turret can elevate as needed. A remarkable feature of this amphibious walking ship is its ability to transform into various modes. By folding its legs, raising its pontoons, and retracting its rear section, it can seamlessly transition between different forms - a process that showcases its impressive versatility. To bring this model to life, I employed acrylic paint, applying it with precision and care to achieve a stunning visual effect.
