CyArk meticulously documented the Waitangi Treaty Grounds in December 2017, combining terrestrial and aerial photogrammetry with LiDAR laser scanning techniques. The entire site was thoroughly mapped, with high-fidelity captures taken at key locations including Te Whare Rūnanga (the intricately carved meeting house), the historic Treaty House, and the majestic Ngātokimatawhaorua ceremonial war canoe. This comprehensive data set will be utilized by the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to effectively manage and promote the site in the years to come. The successful completion of this project at Waitangi was made possible through the generous support of Air New Zealand. The LiDAR and photogrammetric data from this endeavor are now available for public access on openheritage3D.org, a valuable resource for researchers and enthusiasts alike.
