Update 12/4/2016: A brand new version that requires zero support is now available. The B part represents the top of the puck or dome. Update 12/4/2016: This dome is specifically designed for the M8N from rtfquads.com, which can be found at http://www.readytoflyquads.com/mini-ublox-m8n-gps-w-35x35mm-mounting-backplane-and-compass. Update 12/2/2016: The dome has been slightly modified. Some material was removed from around the base, except where the holes are located, to prevent shrinkage from causing the shape to deform. The original dome on the CX-20 (Quanum Nova) houses the compass but fails to accommodate the M8N replacement GPS/Compass combo. To resolve this issue, I created a simple dome that fits perfectly. It was printed on a clone of the Makerbot Replicator Dual using PLA Clear. The walls are very thin in some areas, so I slowed down the printing speed to 30 mm/s. The dome that fits on top is thicker at the bottom to accommodate the female holes. To secure the GPS and the two parts together, use hot glue. This resulted in a weight of 15 grams after cleaning up. PLA or ABS can be used for this project, with layer thickness set to .15 mm and support enabled for the dome.
