This is a custom-made centrifugal fan impeller with forward-curved blades: 100 mm in diameter and 40 mm high, featuring a 4.75 mm mounting bore. It's roughly 3 15/16" x 1 37/64" x 3/16" in size. I explored various blower designs on Thingiverse and some Customizer options, but they all used excessive material for the mounting cone and required too much print time. To address this issue, I created a custom design tailored to meet my specific needs - an exhaust fan. The design is a trade-off between strength, efficiency, and print time. I've attached the Inventor 2017 file, which allows users to select from various parameters such as height, diameter, number of blades, and more. Users can also opt to hide the scoop cutout for increased strength and efficiency, but this results in a 40% increase in print time. Print Settings: Printer: QB-BD Two Up Rafts: No Supports: Yes Infill: 30% Notes: Printed with CuraEngine in PLA, supports were required. To enhance the design's structural integrity, I edited the Infill "Shell Thickness" in the Structures tab and set it to 1.4 mm for thicker walls. Post-Printing: Strengthening: When printed with a certain material or printer quality, banding can compromise the print's strength. As the blade spins up, it experiences intense centrifugal forces. To address this issue, I applied super glue to strengthen some areas and then coated the entire piece with an acrylic spray. Finally, I used Gorilla Glue on the top ring where it meets the blades. These measures should help extend the lifespan of the blade.
