Cutlery box
thingiverse
A handy little 4-segment box for housing your cutlery. Elevated on one side, it comes with drainage holes to help liquids flow freely. It's specifically designed to accommodate materials that are a sturdy 6mm thick. Here are the simple instructions to get started: The part featuring six perfectly circular holes is where you'll find the side wall; carefully cut two copies from this piece. The other component, boasting sixteen neat little holes, will become your base; simply print one copy of it. If your space invader-inspired piece doesn't have any holes at all, don't worry - that's what makes it so unique! It's your end wall, and you'll need two copies of this design as well. As for the last item, this small internal divider piece might be a bit tricky to work with. Make sure to cut three identical versions. When using materials similar to mine (6mm thick) with my laser cutter, I highly recommend applying some paint before assembling the pieces together. Trust me on that one! Oh, and one more thing - it's been reported by fellow DIY enthusiasts like myself that sometimes the bottom plate can become detached from the rest of the box due to the combined weight of all the cutlery inside. There are a few workarounds you could consider: use a stronger adhesive for assembling the pieces together; replace nails into place instead; or take those extra squares cut out from the base and glue them in as hidden legs at the bottom - this will help support the weight from underneath!
