cute 38mm (40mm? 30mm?) speaker

I'm working on a project that will need a small 4-ohm speaker during the design phase and had a small 4-ohm speaker driver spare from a different project. It'll have close to no bass response without some kind of enclosure so i started slapping together a simple box in tinkercad and I Could Not Make Myself Do It Plain. So here it is cute. I used this driver. No parameters were provided, no acoustic measurements were made, the little bass port probably doesn't do anything but look cute. Particularly considering that found that it sounds better if I stuff the box with cotton balls. They call it 40mm because the outer body of the frame is 40mm. The outer diameter of the cardboard ring is 38mm. The driven surface is more like 30mm. I think there are at least a few variations out there that will fit. You will probably have to trim some plastic to fit the speaker. Try not to force it, the cardboard ring is weak. I used self-tapping PC-case-type screws for the back but I bet there are lots of screws that can work, or you can glue it. The retaining ring is held in with three m2.5*6 self-tapping screws that I got out of a kit of laptop repair screws. You could also just glue in the driver. If you use the retaining ring and self-tapping screws your success will be improved by printing in PETG like I did. Like all acoustic transducers, it has a brief break-in period during which it sounds utterly terrible. When that period is over it sounds OK but not amazing for a tiny speaker. I mean I only made this because I'm working on an esp32 wifi doorbell and i need something to make ding-dong noises on the workbench. But it doesn't sound terrible.
