Customizer - Extruder Temperature Tower
thingiverse
Unfortunately indicated extruder temperature generally doesn't accurately reflect the actual extruder temperature at the nozzle. In fact, the disparity between the two in my printer exceeds 30 degrees and fluctuates drastically as filament feed-rate varies during the printing process. I can only make an educated guess about the actual temp at the nozzle. This is a common issue, granted, but my experience has been that the right temperature, a measurement acquired through trial-and-error, is good for a specific printer setup only, i.e., material, layer height, speed, etc. So, this is my new tool to combat that problem. I print each tower using just a skirt so for your slicer layer/temp setup, the steps are 10mm high each. Hollow with 0% infill and single width walls is all you need to get a good gauge of where you need your temperature to be. Use it as you see fit for your purposes, and let me know if and what you'd like to see improved. Review the included illustrations for details on how to use. Open in Customizer and enjoy.
