Customizeable SMD Pick and Place Manual Feeders
thingiverse
Feb 11 2015: this version #2 design can be printed using a standard single extruder printer without needing material support. Project home page: https://github.com/zapta/misc/tree/master/prototyping/smd_feeders This model facilitates manual assembly of electronic SMD components by being attached to a base, fed into component strips, peeling the tape and passing it through that little slot before completion is achieved. Tape pull will move forward, presenting additional components for picking. Adjustments can be made easily: choose feeder numbers needed, strip width (allowing for minor margins), and customization is complete. More complex settings are also available, but standard settings should suffice in most situations. Printed with success on my Prusa i3V using these settings: no material support required, layer thickness 0.1mm, PLA, Cura slicer used. First-layer issues may necessitate a sharp knife to clear out the bottom of the print, or adjustment of slicer parameters can lead to improvements. The provided first-layer test model provides an ideal tool for fast experimentation with clean openings at the bottom.
