Customizable Yoyo - create your own sides
thingiverse
UPDATE! - I've finally got some filament in stock and printed out a new version of the yoyo, realizing that tighter tolerances and a shorter center peg were essential for its proper functioning. After making these changes, I was thrilled to see that the second print worked flawlessly. The old files have been deleted since they didn't meet my expectations. This revised yoyo design is incredibly customizable and interchangeable, allowing users to create their unique versions with ease. To get started, simply print out two yoyo sides and the center peg, insert a string through the hole, tie it off, then glue the peg and sides together. You'll now have a fully functional yoyo that's ready for action. However, I wanted to take it up a notch, so I included some faceplates that can be printed out and pressed fit onto the outside of your yoyo. This way, you can add a cool design to your yoyo in no time! If you want to change the color or swap out the plate entirely, just use a pair of pliers or a flat object to pop it out and replace it with a new one. The best part? You can create any design you desire using the provided dimensions - 55 mm circles that are 3 mm tall. If you have access to CAD software, feel free to design your own blank plate, then add your favorite design on top. Now you've got a personalized YoYo that's truly one-of-a-kind! The three-piece yoyo setup prints in about 2.5 hours, while the individual yoyo plates I designed can be printed in under an hour and require less than 10 grams of filament. They're perfect for testing out different filament types or creating custom swatches. Joel, I hope you enjoy this updated version and that it meets your expectations!
