Customizable X-Acto Knife Case
thingiverse
This is a fully customizable case for an X-Acto knife designed specifically to fit your unique needs. To unlock this custom design, simply log in to Thingiverse and click on the Open In Customizer button. The default dimensions are tailored to fit an X-Acto #2 knife, which I personally use with my own printer. The case features a secure one-way slot to safeguard the blade, ensuring it remains protected at all times. To guarantee optimal protection, the case should be slightly longer than the blade itself, preventing any damage from the end wall of the case. If you require additional security for your case when in the closed position, I recommend using a rubber band. However, I simply rely on the friction between the base and cover to keep it securely in place. As an added precaution, I store my knife in a drawer rather than carrying it in my pocket. To print this design successfully, I used PLA with 0.2mm layers, a 0.4 mm nozzle, 200C for the hotend, and a PEI bed at 70C. Additionally, I applied a brim to prevent curling during the printing process. Once the print is complete, allow it to cool slowly before removing it from the bed to prevent any potential deformation.
