Customizable X-Acto Knife Case
cults3d
This is a tailor-made case for an X-Acto knife that you can modify to fit your needs. To get started, log in to Thingiverse and click on the Open In Customizer button. By default, this design fits an X-Acto #2 knife, which is the same model I use with my own printer. The case comes equipped with a slot and one opening to safeguard the blade from harm. It's best if it's slightly longer than the blade itself so that the tip of the blade doesn't get damaged by the end wall of the case. If you want to keep your case securely closed, consider using a rubber band. However, I simply rely on the friction between the base and the cover to hold everything in place (though I do recommend keeping the knife stored in a drawer rather than my pocket). I printed this design with PLA material, using 0.2mm layers, a 0.4 mm nozzle, and a temperature of 200C for the hotend and 70C for the PEI bed. To prevent curling, I added a brim to the print. Once you've completed the print, let it cool slowly before removing it from the bed to avoid any deformation.
