Customizable Universal Fidget Spinner
thingiverse
Customizable fidget spinner designed to accommodate bearings and weights of all sizes. The design allows users to easily incorporate both cylindrical and spherical weights. To use balls as weights, it's necessary to print the model in two halves, which can then be glued together to insert the balls. This process is often feasible with most 3D slicers, which can translate the model in Z below the bed by half the print height. Anything below the bed plane will not be printed. When using spherical weights, add approximately .3mm to the diameter of each weight to ensure a smooth and easy connection between the two halves. This additional clearance is not necessary for cylindrical weights (bearings), although it may result in an extremely tight fit. For enthusiasts of OpenSCAD programming, the code includes an example of a three-circle Apollonius function, which can be used as a starting point for further customization and development.
