Customizable Universal Connectors - round

thingiverse

Hello Thingiverse members! I discovered a lack of good universal connectors on this platform, so I decided to create some myself and would love to share them with all of you. My goal was initially to design a simple wooden frame for my home theater screen at an affordable cost without making it too difficult to build. The absence of suitable universal printed connector pieces made me create a basic SCAD that can generate different types of connectors. This version 1 has round shapes both outside and inside the holes, but next version will be more versatile. Some key parameters to use: 1) Outer diameter - determines how thick the connector wall will be in mm 2) Inner diameter - measures the size of the hole in mm; I used 8mm wooden sticks as my default value 3) Connect length - sets the length of each connector (or "leg") in mm 4) Faces - number of faces to adjust visual quality and printing speed The STLs attached were generated with these parameters: - outer_diameter = 15; - inner_diameter = 8; - connect_length = 20; - faces = 100; Feel free to comment, suggest improvements or offer tips on how to make this better. Please note that I'm new here and still learning, so bear with me.
