By scaling back the resolution to a compact 55x55 pixels, I can actually dissect the skull with ease in Simplify3D! It printed perfectly without any tearing, and it was probably due to the excessively thin walls at an elevated 85x85 setting. By default, it's scaled down to 88%, which is the lowest resolution it slices smoothly in Simplify3D. Scaling it any further may result in slicing problems or tearing depending on your slicer/printer setup. Light source placement is crucial; it needs to be positioned at the north pole of the imaginary sphere intersecting with the skull, and I've marked this on three distinct pictures. The light should enter at a precise 45-degree angle to the base of the skull, which can be quite challenging to achieve - I managed it using a bare LED chip, and a very thin flashlight might also work effectively.
