Customizable Squeeze Rod Clamp
thingiverse
This is a highly customizable squeeze clamp designed specifically to work seamlessly with an optics mounting post. At times, you require holding something light in place or simply out of the way without leaving any scratches on the rod/post. The default STL file provided is tailored for use with an 8mm post that features M3 bolts and nuts. This particular component was inspired by the Open-source optics project, which aims to drastically reduce the cost of scientific optical hardware. The brainchild of Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group, this initiative seeks to make high-quality optical equipment more accessible to a wider audience. Customization is key: modify the OpenSCAD code as needed to suit your specific requirements. Simply print out the modified design using your preferred 3D printer and then clean up any excess material. For optimal stability and strength, it's recommended that you use at least 25% infill or more when printing this component.
