Customizable Spoked Wheel
thingiverse
I wanted the functionality of a Lego-like component, but the visually striking almost steampunk effect of spokes, and I wanted it all to be generated automatically. The default settings are not compatible with Lego, but you should be able to input Lego-compatible values using the customizer. If you need a wheel larger than 100mm, scale down your values first, then scale up the part before printing it. Be cautious as you adjust values. There are still some bugs present. I fixed several issues: The formula for calculating spoke length was malfunctioning when the spoke count dropped below five. High values of rim thickness resulted in distorted parts. The wheel diameter cannot be smaller than hub diameter. Hub diameter must not be less than axle diameter. Bugs that I am currently trying to fix include: A graphical glitch with the customizer preview is still unresolved. For reference, please visit: http://www.cailliau.org/Alphabetical/L/Lego/Dimensions/General%20Considerations/ LEGO specifications are as follows: Axle Diameter = 4.9 Hub Width = 6.2 Print Settings: Printer Brand: Prusa Printer Model: Prusa Clone Rafts: Not Required Supports: No Notes: The flat bottom of this design is specifically intended to make it easy to print without support. It should be possible to glue two of these back-to-back to create a symmetrical part.
