The Sphericon, a three-dimensional solid possessing one face and two edges, was initially presented by Israeli inventor David Haran Hirsch in 1980. Named by Colin Roberts of England, the Sphericon can be formed from a bicone (a double cone) with a 90-degree apex. It involves splitting the bicone along an axis linking both apexes, rotating one half by 90 degrees, and rejoining them. The construction generalizes to a regular 2n-sided polygon (square, hexagon, octagon), leading to various other 3D solids with similar properties when self-rolling, covering their entire surface. Parameters for creation include sphericon_order (number of sides), sphericon_diameter (sphere diameter in mm), full_sphericon (full or half model), and sphericon_angular_offset (rotates halves). Alignment holes are designed for either small cylindrical magnets or plastic filament pieces, adjustable by pin_height and pin_diameter. However, note that order 4 Sphericons may require reparation with Netfabb before slicing with Slic3r. A repaired version is available here.
