Create your own personalized word clock display within a picture frame, utilizing standard 5mm LEDs. Customize the design to fit different frame sizes and LED diameters using the provided feature. You can also adjust the number of LEDs per segment for a unique look. This project is optimized for use with single-extruder 3D printers, allowing you to print the entire assembly from top to bottom. Start by printing the LED-mount section first. To ensure a snug fit within the frame, add spacers as needed. For a softer and more subtle glow, apply a layer of silver or white paint inside the display case. This will not only diffuse the light but also create a beautiful visual effect. If you prefer a more diffuse lighting solution, consider using LEDs with a wider beam angle, often referred to as "straw hat" LEDs. Alternatively, sand down the tips of your existing LEDs to achieve a similar effect. Finally, use a sheet of paper or an opal acrylic as a diffuser in front of the LEDs to further soften and distribute the light.
